Job Summary:

Coordinates the day-to-day activities of production workers to ensure that manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications and standards. Monitors the volume and quality of output and makes necessary adjustment so that production specifications are met and resources are used efficiently. Prepares production reports so that performance problems can be identified and resolved. Reviews and compiles operations records, such as yield, scrap, and maintenance costs.

Interacts frequently with internal contacts (cross functional teams, hourly employees, front-line supervisors, department managers) to explain policies, practices and procedures. Interfaces with external vendors.

Responsibilities:

The role plays a vital role in ensuring the operation is run effectively by meeting production targets with priority on safety and quality by supervising the daily activities of production staff. Contributes to the development and implementation of new processes, tools and/or equipment. Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the department.Manages cost and will actively explore cost reduction opportunities in line with annual operating plans. Actively engages,motivates and develops a team of production operatives.Actively implementsOpEX standard work, tool and standards. Provides coaching in the plant’s operating procedures and standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, Master’s degree preferred

5-10 years experience in productionlead role required

Hands on mentality to run production line

Experience and proven track recordin building & maintaining internal and external relationships withoutgeographical proximity

Experience in basic principles ofLean manufacturing is meritable

Extensive experience in thetransportation industry is highly meritableOccasional domestic andintercontinental travel is required

Fluency English required

Prior people management experience is required
